Happy Anniversary!

Today, my wife and I are celebrating 14 years of marriage. It is funny how fast 14 years went by. We dated four years before we married and so that brings us to 18 years together. Wow!

We had been married for 5 years when God blessed us with our first son. Our second man-child came almost 3 years later. This explains some of the blurry time-lapse. When you have kids, life becomes a whirlwind. You stop measuring life in days and weeks...those intervals are far too short.

There are so many choices we could have made differently in the last 1.4 decades. But it happened just so for a reason. I know we both strongly believe that God has directed our lives...even when we were not seeking His help. We now know that things go so much smoother when you let the Master lead. It still isn't easy waiting on Him.

My prayer today is that my wife will seek God with everything she has. Only then can she handle what He has planned for us together. I want to help her, and I will try.

I believe that you are the partner God planned for me to have when He established my life in the beginning, and you have played a pivotal role in who I have become as a man. You are a terrific momma to our boys, and my very best friend.

I look forward to many, many more years together...learning, living, and discovering more about what God want us to learn as a man and wife.

Quite simply, I love you.
